Cracker Box Racing
Fast, competitive and great fun, Cracker Box Racing is Logan City Marine Modellers' most popular racing class. Built around standardised class rules, it creates close, exciting competition where driver skill - not expensive equipment - makes the difference.
All Cracker Box boats must comply with the official LCMM Class Rules before competing. These regulations ensure fair competition and maintain consistency across the fleet, covering everything from hull dimensions and motor specifications through to batteries, propellers and race numbers.

The Courses
Racing Courses
Throughout the season, competitors race across a variety of course layouts designed to test different driving skills. Each course offers its own unique challenge, rewarding precision, consistency and speed.
#1 Circuit Racing Course
The Cracker Box Circuit Race Course is a high-speed endurance circuit that challenges competitors to complete multiple laps around a triangular course, navigating three precision turning buoys before crossing the finish line. Designed to test consistency, boat handling and race strategy, this format rewards smooth cornering, controlled speed and the ability to maintain momentum over several laps, making for fast-paced and highly competitive racing.
#2 Circuit Racing Course
This three-lap triangular course challenges competitors to maintain speed through sweeping turns while navigating a clean and consistent racing line to the finish.
#3 Barrel Course
The Barrel Course requires competitors to navigate around three turning markers while maintaining the fastest possible lap time. Smooth cornering and consistent boat control are the key to success.
#4 Time Trial Course
The Time Trial Course is a head-to-head format where competitors race identical layouts from opposite sides of the course. Fast reactions, accurate turns and clean driving are essential for achieving the quickest time.
#5 Lane Racing Course
The Lane Racing Course sees two competitors race side-by-side in parallel lanes, navigating identical layouts before sprinting back to the finish line. This format rewards quick reactions, accurate turns and consistent driving under pressure, creating close and exciting head-to-head competition.
